PolyCon XXVI

Despite the destruction, the convention was a great success with
an increase in practically everything: attendance, games, events, and even
dealers. Games People Play, a local game store, joined KJG Games, Flying
Buffalo, and John Gaffney as our fourth dealer. Seminars returned to
PolyCon with our Game Designers Panel, How to Run PolyCon, and LARP
seminars. And a new game company was in attendance. Dark Age Games
showed up this year to demonstrate their LARP, Cyberworld. Many thanks to
all the new participants at PolyCon this year.
From noon at Friday on, attendees were greeted by a giant stuffed
dragon that guarded PolyCon's door. From then on, convention goers
participated in the countless games, LARPs, tournaments, and events that
PolyCon XVII had to offer. In this year's main Live Action Roleplaying
Game, over twenty-five gamers descended upon a secret base in Antartica to
bring about the destruction or save the world. In the ADnD tournament
countless gamers fought against strange Orcs and magics to save their
world. In the Deadlands: Hell on Earth tournament, futuristic warriors
toured Disneyland: Hell on Earth Style. And in the ADnD double blind
game, Evil triumphed over Good.
Thank you to everyone who helped and participated in PolyCon XVII.
Despite the fact that the world ended multiple times over, it was one of
the best yet. I hope that everyone will return next year for PolyCon
XVIII, PirateCon, on June 23-25, 2000.
Thank You
