TactiCon

March 7, 1998 - University Union, Room 220

"Miniature gaming has grown in popularity over the last couple of years and we felt it would be fun to host an event solely devoted to it, much like we have the Mid-Year LARP (Live-Action Role-Playing game)," event director Cody E. Hudson said.

Planned event include an all-day Warhammer 40K table as well as Babylon Wars, Silent Death, Warzone, Heavy Gear, BattleTech, Chainmail, GURPS Man-to-Man Arena, Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Leviathan, Flint and Steel, and WWII micro armor. The last two events will be run by Colonel Richard Kane, advisory to Game Theory Chapter 2, the Cal Poly campus gaming club.

"Colonel Kane's games are nothing short of spectacular," Hudson said, and he encouraged anyone interested in historical gaming to come out and give them a try. Flint and Steel covers 18th and early 19th century warfare, Hudson added.

Other special events include the Chainmail game. Chainmail is the game that included the first set of rules that was to eventually evolve into Dungeons & Dragons.

The entrance fee will $3, and doors open at 10 a.m. with events running from 10:30 a.m. "until we get kicked out," Hudson said.
